The OTC 6596HD Heavy-duty Brake Pad Inspection Gauge is designed to measure brake pad thickness without removing the tires on heavy-duty vehicles for fast, easy operation. 

The caliper-style slide operation gauge presses against the rotor to set the gauge at zero. A thumb slider is pulled back until the gauge touches the backing plate of the brake pad, showing the brake pad's thickness. 

A color indicator gauge on the butt cap shows red, yellow, or green depending on the pad's thickness. This provides technicians an easy and fast way to assess brake pad thickness without having to lift the truck and remove the wheels, saving time during service and inspections. 

Can be used to measure both inner and outer brake pad with almost 24" of reach. 

  • Green (12mm+) = No replacement needed
  • Yellow (6 - 12mm) = Suggest replacement soon
  • Red (0 - 6mm) = Recommend replacement
